Privacy notice
This draft explains how Errands Master would handle personal information when people book, receive, deliver or manage courier services through the website.
1. Who is responsible
Errands Master operates the courier platform and determines why delivery information is used. Until the legal entity details above are completed, privacy questions can be sent to errandsmaster26@gmail.com or raised by phone or WhatsApp on 055 772 7769.
This notice is intended to support compliance with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). The Data Protection Commission explains individual rights under the Act.
2. Information we handle
Account and contact details
Name, phone number, email or recovery email, account identifier, role and saved address.
Delivery details
Pickup and drop-off addresses, sender and recipient details, parcel type, weight, instructions, order code, timestamps and delivery status.
Location and proof
Rider location when permission is enabled, route information, delivery events, ratings, complaints and any proof-of-delivery material a future feature clearly requests.
Technical and payment records
Authentication and security logs, device/browser information, chosen payment method, quoted amount, payment status and transaction reference. The current website does not request a card PIN, MoMo PIN or one-time password.
We receive information from the person making a booking, recipients or business customers, riders and staff, the device used with permission, and service providers used for authentication, hosting and maps.
3. Why we use it
- Create and secure accounts and apply role-based access.
- Quote, schedule, assign, collect, track and deliver an order.
- Contact senders, recipients and riders about an active delivery.
- Verify delivery, investigate incidents, manage cancellations, complaints and payouts, and prevent abuse.
- Maintain service records, comply with legal duties and defend legitimate claims.
- Understand service reliability and improve the platform using appropriately limited operational data.
The lawful ground depends on the situation and must be confirmed during legal review. It may include consent, steps requested before or performance of a service contract, a legal obligation, and legitimate operational or security interests that do not override individual rights.
4. Who receives information
Information is limited according to role. A rider may receive the pickup, destination, recipient contact and instructions needed for an assigned delivery. Dispatchers and authorised managers may access operational records. Customers should only see their own orders.
We may also use vetted providers for cloud hosting, database and authentication services (currently Firebase/Google), mapping links or embeds (Google Maps), and communications or payment processing if those features are later activated. Information may be disclosed where required by law, to protect safety, or to establish or defend legal rights. We do not sell personal information.
5. Location and device permissions
Rider location is collected only after the device grants geolocation permission and should be used for active operations, assignment and customer updates. Turning off permission stops new browser location readings, although already-recorded operational events may be retained. Camera and microphone access are not enabled by the current site.
6. Browser storage and offline use
The site uses local browser storage or similar technology for authentication persistence, preferences and essential app operation. Its service worker caches the public app shell so some screens can open with a weak connection. Live orders remain network-backed; an offline screen does not confirm that a booking or status change was saved. No advertising or cross-site analytics cookies are intentionally configured in this release.
7. International service providers
Cloud providers may process or store information outside Ghana. Before launch, Errands Master should document the relevant locations, contracts and safeguards and confirm that any international transfer meets Act 843 requirements.
8. Retention
Information should be kept only as long as needed for the delivery, account, safety, accounting, dispute and legal purposes described above, then securely deleted or anonymised. A specific retention schedule must be approved before this notice becomes final. Backup copies may take additional time to expire under controlled provider schedules.
9. Security
We use measures such as authenticated access, role-based database rules, encrypted web transport, restricted staff access and security monitoring. No online service can promise absolute security. Never send a password, MoMo PIN, card PIN or one-time password to a rider or support agent. Report suspected account misuse promptly through the support page.
10. Your choices and rights
Subject to Ghanaian law, you may ask whether your information is being processed, request access or correction, object to certain processing or direct marketing, withdraw consent where consent is the basis, and raise a complaint. Other remedies may apply to your circumstances.
Send a request with enough information to verify your identity and find the relevant order, but do not email passwords or payment secrets. You may also contact Ghana's Data Protection Commission.
11. Information about other people
If you book for a recipient or provide another person's details, you must have a lawful reason to do so, give accurate information and tell them that Errands Master will use their details to complete the delivery. Do not add sensitive or unnecessary information to delivery instructions.
12. Children
The platform is intended for adults who can enter a service agreement. It is not designed for children to open accounts independently. Contact us if you believe a child provided information without appropriate authority.
13. Updates and contact
Material updates should be dated and communicated in the app or by an appropriate contact channel. Questions and requests can be sent to errandsmaster26@gmail.com, by phone or WhatsApp on 055 772 7769, or through support.
